Welcome Sunday: September 28th

On September 28, please invite a friend or neighbor to come to church!  This is a day designed to show visitors what Westminster has to offer.  Sunday school for the children will resume this fall with an emphasis on music.  We will have information available about our mission projects and lunch will be served during coffee hour.  We are also promoting Welcome Sunday at our booth at the Xenia Community Festival.

Ladies' Night Out-August 2014

On August 21st, the biggest group yet of the ladies of Westminster gathered for food and fellowship. The venue for this month's gathering was Mimi's at The Greene. There was much laughter, a lot of interesting conversation and delicious food. One of our ladies even provided money saving coupons for all! Score!

Next month's gathering will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, September 18th at Figlio Italian Restaurant, 424 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering in the Town and Country Shoppping Center. Come on and join us!

Fill Our Drawers

"Fill Our Drawers" was our theme for Westminster's 2014 donation of items to our
partner school, Tecumseh Elementary. Members of the congregation donate school
supplies as well as underwear and socks for Tecumseh's students. Those items
fill a closet at the school where teachers can go to find needed supplies for
their students.

A Time to Share-Update

As was posted earlier, our congregation is actively contemplating our future, through a pair of discussions. The first, held during fellowship hour on July 27th, focussed on the issues of : deeper engagement and participation in the life of the church by our members; expanded mission beyond our congregation; a new statement of purpose; and what is Westminster called to be in 2020? The discussions were open and honest and much was shared that will be meaningful as we work together to determine our church's direction.

The next set of discussions will be held during fellowship hour this Sunday, August 3rd. The topics for this set of discussions will be: growth in active membership, and strengthened finance. Please join us and contribute your ideas and share your concerns as, together, we chart Westminster's path for the future.

Pizza Party!

On Sunday, July 20th, our fellowship hour was turned into a pizza party to celebrate the harvest of the church "pizza garden." The herbs used were grown right here at Westminster by our dedicated volunteer gardeners. The bountiful harvest was then turned into delicious and varied pizzas by our volunteer chefs.

Special thanks goes to Brocato’s Italian Market in the Finlay Market in Cincinnati and the Saturday morning market in Yellow Springs, who gave us a great deal on the pizza dough and the sauce. And now you know where to go for supplies if you'd like to replicate that spectacular meal!
